Locally-Sourced Honey

Here at Barachois Breeze, we use locally-sourced honey from our hometown of Kippens, which is located on the west coast of the island portion of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. We hope to be able to source our honey locally for many years to come.

We try not to eat it for the soaps' sake, but it is just so delicious, it's hard not to!

All jokes aside, honey provides a luxurious lather to handmade soap and is considered a humectant, which means that is maintains moisture. Good for your skin :) Check out more benefits of honey here.

Beeswax, another one of those essential soapmaking ingredients if you aren't vegan (don't worry- we also carry vegan soaps, lip balms, etc.!) provides a harder, more dense bar and has quite a few benefits to your skin as well.

You can find out more about Bee Positive Apiary's honey on their Instagram.

Testimonials

I've been using Barachois Breeze homemade all-natural soaps for a few months now, and I couldn't be more impressed!

The scents are wonderfully refreshing without being overpowering, and knowing that they're made from all-natural ingredients gives me peace of mind. I can't believe bar soap can leave my skin feeling soft, clean, and moisturized!

It's clear that a lot of care and attention to detail goes into every batch - and the packaging is so cute! And it's not only soap... I also love their bath salts, body butter, lip balm, and their super soft face cloths (bath mitts are coming soon!)!

I highly recommend these soaps to anyone looking for a high-quality, eco-friendly alternative to commercial products. Why not support local and try it out? You won't be disappointed!

Barachois Breeze has truly set a new standard for natural skincare - it's the only soap I use!

Tips for Using and Keeping Bar Soap

To increase the longevity of your bar soap, try storing it on a dish that has adequate drainage into the sink (like this) and try to remember to remove the soap from the shower once you're finished with it so that it can dry in between use.

The same applies for using bar soap to wash your hands- keep it on a dish that allows for adequate drainage. Any bar soap, factory- and hand-made, will become soggy and slimy if it is left sitting in a puddle of water.

Please take care of your soap so that it can take care of your skin :)
